Margret Lily (Sperlich) Schoenberg

Margret L. Schoenberg BURLINGTON – Margret Lily (Sperlich) Schoenberg, 70, passed away at her daughter’s home at 12:30a.m. on Thursday, April 18th, 2013. She was born in Berlin - Schoeneberg, Germany on June 24th, 1942. Following birth, she resided in Berlin, Germany, then Chicago, Illinois from 1949 until 1952, and has been a resident of Burlington since 1952. On September 21st, 1963, at St. Mary’s congregation in Burlington, Wisconsin she was united in marriage to William Joseph Schoenberg, who preceded her in death on November 2nd, 2001. She worked as an accountant for McMahon-Veltus, S.C. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Lyons, WI and an active member of her bible study group. She enjoyed giving back to her community and did so through breast cancer walks and literary council. She enjoyed walking, camping, hiking, fishing, penny slots, knitting club, spending time with friends and family, and travelling. She loved people and her home was open to everyone. Surviving are her daughters, Dawn (Nick) Covelli, Lisa (Martin) Swance, Keri (Seth) Redford; five grandchildren, Morgan (Jason) DeBaere, Ashley and Whitney Covelli, Kacey Swance, and Olivia Redford; great - grandchild, Weston DeBaere; and siblings Horst ‘Sonny’ Sperlich, DeeDee Sperlich, Barbara Begale, Janice Jackley, and Harriet Schoenberg. She was preceded in death by her parents, Monica and Gerd Sperlich; husband, William Joseph Schoenberg; daughter, Theresa Ann Schoenberg; and brother-in-law, Richard Schoenberg. A memorial service will be held at St. Joseph’s Church in Lyons on Saturday, April 27th, 2013, at 11:00am with Parish Director Dan Hull officiating. All memorials will be donated to METAVivor Research and Support, Inc. whose funding is applied towards metastatic breast cancer research. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Frick of St. Luke’s Hospital and his staff as well as VITAS Hospice, especially Robin and Beverly, for their unparalleled care and support.
