Raymond M. Campbell

RACINE - Raymond M. Campbell, 85, died Saturday, April 22, 2006, at United Hospital Systems KMCC. Born on November 21, 1920, in Racine, he was the son of the late Raymond and Anna (nee: Thielen) Campbell. He married Jean Campbell in Racine. She preceded him in death in 1982. During World War II, he served as an Officer in the United States Navy aboard the USS Hull. He was a Pearl Harbor survivor and received five Battle Stars. For many years, he was employed as a History Teacher at Bradford High School. He was a member of the Wisconsin Education Association. He loved spending time with his great-grandchildren. Survivors include his daughter, Barbara Campbell-Balk of Racine; one sister, Doris Aul of Racine; three brothers, Gilbert (Janet) Campbell of California, George (Phyllis) Campbell of Massachusetts, and Herbert Campbell of Maryland; one grandchild, Daniel (Heidi) Balk Jr.; and four great-grandchildren, Hannah Balk, Daniel Balk III, Dylan Balk, and Nicholas Balk. He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas in 1991; and a sister, Virginia Willis. Funeral services will be held at the Hansen-Lendman Funeral Home on Friday, April 28, 2006, at 1 p.m. Private interment will be held in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
