RACINE — Robert K. Andersen, age 88, passwed away on July 3, 2014. Bob was born in Racine on June 24, 1926, son of Carl and Hazel (Steffens) Andersen. He served in the Navy during WWII in the South Pacific on the USS Alnitah, an attack transport ship. While stationed in San Francisco, he met and married Maxine Wood on March 23, 1946. They settled in Racine where Bob was employed by Pyle Chevrolet/Cadillac from 1949-1951. The dealership then changed ownership to Don Hutson, Inc., where he worked for 33 years and later became vice president and general manager. In 1984, the dealership was sold and Bob was employed by Garbo Motors until retiring in 2000. Bob loved to fish and hunt pheasants, ducks and geese, accompanied by one of his faithful hunting dogs. He also enjoyed playing golf with his many golfing buddies. He is survived by one son, Michael (Sharon) Andersen of Highlands Ranch, CO; two daughters, Susan Ashton of Oshkosh and Judith Barski of Racine; brother, William J Andersen, and six grandchildren: Kristi (John) Stanton, Ken Ashton, Rick (Sarah) Ashton, David Barski, Daryl Sears and Dan (Liz) Andersen. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many dear friends. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine, his parents, Carl and Hazel Andersen, and brother Warren. In keeping with his wishes, a private ceremony will be held at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemeteray, Union Grove. MILLER-REESMAN FUNERAL HOME 620 15TH AVE 262-878-2500
