Isabel Brantner Obituary

RACINE - Isabel E. (nee: Berger) Brantner, 77, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2006, at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare-All Saints. She was born on March 15, 1929, in New Salem, N.D., to Casper and Pauline (nee: Weber) Berger. Isabel was united in marriage to Arnold Brantner on February 14, 1950, in Durand. They moved to Racine in the same year. She retired from In-Sink-Erator in 1987 after 25 years of service. Isabel was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She enjoyed crocheting and playing cards with various senior groups. Surviving are her husband, Arnold; and their sons, Charlie (Kim) Brantner and Kevin Brantner, all of Racine; three grandchildren, Stacy (fianc‚, Donny Johnstone) Brantner of Racine, Kristy (Laith) Gilbertson of LaCrosse, and Becky (Jamie) Hartley of Racine; step-grandson, Christopher Emerson of Menominee; two great-grandchildren, Jude and Mariska Gilbertson; son-in-law, Dave Scheffler; and brothers and sisters, Al, Joe, Jim, Casper, Clara, Annamarie, Mae, Virginia, and Dolores. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Dolannes Scheffler and Renee Brantner; sister, Monica; and four brothers, John, Tony, Richard, and Kenneth. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Friday, November 10, 2006, at 10 a.m. with Rev. Ronald Crewe officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery on Holy Cross Road. There will be a visitation at the Hanson Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 4 until 7 p.m. and at the church on Friday before services from 9 until 9:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Diabetes Association, 2323 North Mayfair Road, Wauwatosa, Wis. 53226; or to the Arthritis Foundation, 1650 South 108th Street, West Allis, Wis. 53214, have been suggested.
