Mrs. Danford: So sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. She was a truly wonderful lady. Living next to your cottage at Eagle Lake inspired my everlasting love of summer. I will always cherish the happy memories of sailing, swimming, horseback riding, golf, bonfires and, of course, picnics. Each summer, we picked strawberries as the main ingredient for one of her amazing pies. Tasting the delicious lemonade she would make using real lemons was incredible. She was an inspiring woman: solid; candid; conservative with a great love of family. Her heart was truly in Wisconsin. I feel honored that she was a huge part of my life. May she rest in peace.

I have many memories of Mrs. Danford going back to when they lived near us on Quincy Avenue in Racine when I was a child, and continuing to many years at Pan Yack Park. The Danfords rented my grandparent's cottage at the lake and soon bought their own place there, later moving to another cottage just two doors west of ours. I recall the many bonfires we had, roasting marshmallows, singing songs, and telling ghost stories. I am sorry I can't be there with the family and friends to celebrate her life. My best wishes to her family, who were all good friends over the years.

Jean will be sadly missed. My family lives out at Eagle Lake still and I grew up riding horse with beth out at eagle lake. I later got to know jean better when I would come over and do house work and clean for her. She is a wonderful woman and I feel like a better person having known her. She will be missed.
