Dorothy Kozlik Obituary

RACINE - Dorothy A. Kozlik, age 94, passed away at her residence on Wednesday December 27, 2017. Dorothy was born in Columbus, WI on January 13, 1923, daughter of the late Otto and Ella (nee: Ehlert) Behl. Dorothy graduated from Washington Park High School “Class of 1941”. During World War II, she proudly served in the U. S. Coast Guard. Dorothy was united in marriage to John J. Kozlik Jr. on March 22, 1947 at the First Presbyterian Church. They shared 50 beautiful years together before John preceded her in death on July 11, 1997. She was employed at the Mt. Pleasant Town Hall for twenty-one years, before retiring in 1993. She was a member of the Bahai Temple in Racine and Mt. Pleasant. Dorothy will be missed by her son-in-law, Henry Syring; grandchildren, Christopher Syring, Patricia (Chris) Townsend; great grandchildren, Emily Syring, Sydney and Aaron Syring; brother, Robert Behl; sister-in-law, Eleanor Kozlik; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was also preceded in death by her daughter, Lorraine Syring. Funeral services with Full Military Honors will be held at the West Lawn Memorial Park Chapel, 9000 Washington Ave, on Wednesday January 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held in the chapel Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
