TUCSON, ARIZ. - Eleanor Herman Christianson Allen, 88, formerly of Kenosha, died Tuesday, December 21, 2004, at her residence in Tucson, AZ. Born on October 20, 1916, in Racine, she was the daughter of the late Frederich and Johanna (nee: Kaufman) Herman. She married Bennett Christianson on September 17, 1938. He died in 1970. In 1975, she moved to Tucson, Ariz. and married Lee Allen on January 5, 1988. She attended St. John's Lutheran School in Racine. She was a Girl Scout Leader, Sunday School Teacher, and a PTA member. She actively volunteered with hospital auxiliaries and was recently honored for 29 years of volunteer service at Armory Park Senior Center. She was an exceptional crafter and enjoyed making beautiful things. Survivors include her husband, Lee Allen of Tucson, Ariz.; her two sons, Allan (Karen) Christianson of Carson City, Nev. and Timothy (Patricia) Christianson of Kenosha; one daughter, Cynthia (Chester) Spang of Treasure Island, Fla.; two step-daughters, Carol (Husam) Allen-Rasoul of Columbus, Ohio and Donna Allen of Livermore, Calif.; one brother, Edward (Annie) Herman; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Lydia Neily; and three brothers, Frederick, Edwin, and Robert Herman. Memorial services for Mrs. Eleanor Herman Christianson Allen will be held at First United Methodist Church, 919 - 60th Street, on Monday, January 10, 2005, at 11 a.m. Friends may meet with the family at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran School in Racine, the First United Methodist Church, or the American Heart Association.
