STURTEVANT - Gerald L. “Jerry” Demant, 58, of Sturtevant, passed away on December 2, 2013. He was born August 25, 1955 to Roy and Loretta (nee Dellis) Demant in Racine, WI. Jerry graduated from Union Grove High School in 1973. Jerry worked in construction as a carpenter to support his family. An outdoors man, he was an avid hunter and fisher who also did taxidermy. He loved wood working as a hobby, as well. Jerry’s family will always remember his sense of humor. Jerry is survived by his children, Neil (Deanna) Demant, Ryan (Sheryl) Rouse, Traci (John) Meyer, and Jeana Demant; his grandchildren, Hunter and Ace Demant; his father, Roy Demant; his siblings, Lee (Patty) Demant, John (Linda) Demant, Daniel Demant, Larry (late Sharon) Demant, Jay (Gisele) Demant, Judith (Michael) LaFrania; and his former spouses, Tina Miller and Sandra Demant. Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Loretta Demant, as well as other family and friends. Visitation with Jerry’s family and friends will be held at Miller-Reesman Funeral Home on Thursday, December 5 from 4-7 pm. Meet at Miller-Reesman Funeral Home on Friday, December 6 at 10 am for procession to West Lawn Memorial Park for memorial service and burial.
