RACINE - Gordon Lindhard, 86, was welcomed in the arms of his Lord and Savior on Saturday June 29, 2013. He was born in Racine on August 15, 1926 the son of the late Helmer and Oda (nee: Kierulff) Lindhard. Gordon proudly enlisted in the United States Navy during World War II from 1944 until his honorable discharge in 1946. He usually could be found at Shoop Park on a regular basis with his Saturday golfing buddies. Gordon found great solace and comfort reading his bible on a daily basis. He was an electrical engineer, retiring from Snap-On after many years of service. For many years Gordon found great enjoyment in his involvement as a Ham Radio Operator. Gordon is survived by his daughters, Linda (Jeff) Turner of New Hampshire, Gail (Stan) Kopinski of Racine and grandchildren, Jamie, Jennifer, Katie and Lance. He is further survived by one brother, Peter (Anita) Lindhard of Adrian, Mich., one sister, June (Richard) Matson of Racine, along with nieces, nephews, special neighbors, Ted and Mary Karapanos, other relatives and many dear friends and golfing buddies. Gordon was preceded in death by one son, Lance on October 12, 2007. Funeral Services will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Friday July 5, 2013 at 11 a.m. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. Gordon will be laid to rest next to his son Lance at West Lawn Memorial Park with full military honors following services.
