Jean A. Olson

Jean A. Olson Racine-Jean A. (nee: Mainland) Olson, 96, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 2, 2015 at Willow Green Assisted Living Center. She was born in Racine on July 25, 1919 the daughter of the late Roy and Helen (nee: Olson) Mainland. Jean was united in marriage to Delbert Olson on July 25, 1953, in Racine at Atonement Lutheran Church. She was employed as a secretary at Western Publishing and Letsch Manufacturing retiring after many years of service. Jean found great enjoyment in knitting and caring for her beloved canine companion "Chelsea". Jean is survived by her brother, Donald (Ruth) Mainland, nephews and nieces, Ed "Butch" (Debbie) Danoski, Ron (Dana) Danoski; niece, Sharon Lynn Johnston, Mick (Geri) Mainland, Mary (Peter) Lovdahl, Jeff (Valerie) Mainland, and Lisa (Keith) Medendorp. She is further survived by other relatives and friends. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert in 1987, infant brother, Robert Mainland, and niece, Louise (Ken) Kwapil. Funeral services will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at 12 noon, with Rev. Dr. David Brown officiating. Jean will be laid to rest next to her husband at Graceland Cemetery in a private ceremony. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:30 am until service time at noon.
