Marilyn Ann Heegeman Marilyn Ann Heegeman (nee: Mathias), 78 years of age, joined eternal life on Saturday, April 20, 2013 with her family by her side. She was born in Burlington, September 2, 1934, and grew up as one of 5 children of the late Edison and Mary (Sinkus) Mathias in the town of Norway. She had a love for the game of cribbage, her family, cats and bowling. Marilyn was preceded in death by her late husband Leroy Heegeman on December 26, 1989 as well as sister Valeria Matterer, her brother Robert Mathias and granddaughter Mariah Marquez. She is survived by her 6 children: William R. Hellesen, Karen (Scott) Jacobs, Lori Branthoover, Timothy (Gail) Hellesen, Kathy Hellesen, Cindy Hellesen; sisters JoAnn Almond and Judy Hansen; grandchildren: Ryan, Jason, April (Joshua), Richard, Chad (Melissa), Todd (Aymber), Stephanie, Sara, Sabrina, Valerie, LeAnn, Jeremy, Zackery; eight beautiful great-grandchildren and step-children; other relatives and dear friends. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday morning, April 23, 2013 at 11:00 with Chaplain Gene Berres officiating. Visitation will be held 9:30-11:00. Private burial will be held at a later date at the Union Grove Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Allay Hospice in honor of Marilyn. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Allay Hospice for their compassionate care they provided to the family.
