Mary A. Greil KANSASVILLE — Mary A. Greil (née Smith), 86, passed away on September 27, 2013 at her home in the loving presence of her family. She was born April 12, 1927 to Ellis and Mary (née Sot) Smith in Milwaukee, WI. She married the late Paul A. Griel on May 8, 1948 and during their 45 year marriage they raise three children. She was proud to be a farmer's wife and made a wonderful home for her family. Mary was a talented seamstress and taught sewing with 4-H for many years. She was an animal lover and enjoyed her dogs, cats, and birds. Mowing the law was a favorite past time and let her enjoy the outdoors. An excellent cook, she enjoyed entertaining and feeding her family. Family was most important to her and she loved to have children around her. Mary loved traveling throughout the United State on road trips with her sister-in-law, Min Greil and she even went to Ireland and Australia. Mary is survived by her daughter, Judy Sorce (Terry); her sons-in-law, Larry Sorce, and Richard (Donna) Freimoth; her grandchildren, Vicki Friemoth, Lisa Pritzlaff, Cheryl Preiser, Cristin Coster, Craig Friemoth, Bowen (Alis) Greil, and Jean Conrad; her great- grandchildren, Magnolia and Lilium Haskins, Jenna and Myah Conrad, Gavin, Tyler, and Grayson Greil, and Reese and Payton Coster; and her siblings, Bonnie (Ken) Amon, Dwight Smith, Richard Smith, Donald Smith, Dan Smith, Tim Smith, and Todd Smith. Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul; her children, Peter Greil and Frances Friemoth; and her sisters, Pat and Paulette. Visitation will be held at St. Mary's Church in Dover on Wednesday, October 2 from 9 am - 11 am with the Mass of Christian Burial officiated by Fr. Robert Kacalo to begin at 11 am. Burial at St. Mary's Cemetery will immediately follow. The family would like to Thank Tony and Mario Lena and Peggy Skyles for their friendship and the kind care they gave to Mary and her family.
