MT. PLEASANT - Mary Louise Nicikowski, 79, passed away at Parkside Manor in Kenosha on Tuesday morning, November 12, 2013. Mary was born in Negaunee City, Michigan to the late Armi and Mary (née: Kanniainen) Parkkonen on January 10, 1934. In Racine, Mary was united in marriage to Bernard C. Nicikowski on April 5, 1996. Mary was employed by Getty's Manufacturing for over 20 years retiring in 1995. She lived in Racine for most of her life. Mary will be remembered by her concern for others and having a generous and caring personality. She always smiled and was well put together. Mary stayed up with the latest fashions. She was dedicated to exercising because staying healthy was important to her. Mary lived a full life with a youthful heart. She was blessed to have been a breast cancer survivor. She enjoyed knitting and was member of the knitting club. Mary also enjoyed traveling with Bernie to many places, especially when it involved her family. Mary will be dearly missed by her husband, Bernard; children, Greg Kogutkiewicz, Dan Kogutkiewicz, Kathy (Peter) Jacobson, Steve Kogutkiewicz, Mark Kogutkiewicz, Yvonne (Larry) Heikkinen, Alane (David) Reeser, Gina Nicikowski and her friend, Juan and Gean (Colin) Pankow; grandchildren, Nicole, Erica, Mark, Alexis, Andrew, Katie, Nicole, Eric, Richard, Kirsten, Julie, Amy, Lea, Travis, Janelle, Samantha, Colin Jr. and Olivia; 23 great grandchildren; sisters, Lorraine Frederickson and Sharon Rivers; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles, Arthur, William, George and Donald Parkkonen and sisters, Margie Dodge and Ruth Hanson. A memorial committal service and inurnment will be held at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel on Monday, November 18, 2013 at 1:00 PM.
