UNION GROVE - Phyllis I. Miller (nee Hoffman), 66, passed away on March 8, 2013 in the loving presence of her family at Aurora St. Luke’s Hospital in Milwaukee after a short battle with liver cancer. She was born November 14, 1946 in Racine, WI to Louis and Margaret (nee Haas) Hoffman. She married the love of her life, Thomas Miller, on July 19, 1969 and together they raised three children. Phyllis had worked retail at Zahn’s, in the office at Walker Manufacturing, and with her son, John, at his business, All Clean. But her passion was for her family and she felt a calling to be a full-time grandmother. She made a wonderful home and all were welcomed by her hospitality. Phyllis’s love and caring for her grandchildren can never be matched. Phyllis is survived by her loving husband of over 43 years, Thomas; her devoted children, John (Dawn Acerbi) Miller, Dan (Natasha) Miller, and Beth (Roger) Crum; and her adoring grandchildren, Nick, Tyler, Mike, Alexius, Faith, DJ, Miranda, Megan, Mikayla, Logan, Molly, and Mercy. She is also survived by her siblings, Virginia (Mark) Berenschot, Louis (Nancy) Hoffman, Rita Hoffman, Barb Chernouski, and Richard (Jeannie) Hoffman; and Thomas’s siblings, Mike Miller (Ruby Anderson) and Roxanne Miller; and many nieces and nephews, other family, and friends. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Margaret Hoffman; and her brother-in-law, Mike Chernouski. Open-Casket visitation with family and friends of Phyllis, will take place on Thursday, March 14, 2013 from 4-7 pm at Miller-Reesman Funeral Home. Further visitation (no viewing) will take place at St. Robert’s Parish on Friday, March 15, 2013 from 9:30-10:30 am. The Mass of Christian Burial officiated by Fr. Robert Kacalo will begin at 10:30 am at St. Robert’s Parish. Burial at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery will immediately follow. The family would like to Thank the Nursing Staff at St. Luke’s Hospital for their compassionate care of Phyllis.
