KENOSHA - Shirley M. O’Connor, 86, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 13, 2013, at Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie. Born on November 11, 1926, in Racine, she was the daughter of the late John A. and Matilda (Deiderick) Braun. She attended schools in Racine. On October 2, 1948, she married Delbert R. O’Connor at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Racine. He preceded her in death on June 16, 1995. She was employed at Western Publishing in Racine, where she worked for forty years and retired February 1, 1987. Shirley was a member to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the VFW and the Moose Club. She enjoyed playing cards with her good friend Di, going on casino bus trips, and meeting with her friends at the VFW and the Moose Lodge. She is survived by two brothers, John Braun of Peoria, IL, and Charles Braun of Neshkoro, WI; and her nieces and nephews, Joyce (Pat) Lourigan, Janice (Bob) Muhlick, Jim (Sue) O’Connor, Michael Parker, Patric (Mary) Parker, Linda (Jim) Troestler, Larry (Karen) Braun, Patricia Braun, Judith (Dr. Thiru) Arasu, James (Kim) Braun, Tim Braun, Jeff Braun and David Braun. Besides her husband and her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Braun and Robert Braun. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 18th, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 12:00 noon. Entombment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on Friday at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Hospice Alliance or St. Mary Catholic Church would be appreciated by the family.
