HARTFORD - Ted (Dennis) Streit, 65, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2013 in the loving presence of his family at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee. He was born October 15, 1947 to Ralph and Ruth (nee Demmerich) Streit in Milwaukee, WI. Ted worked at Geoman’s Wood Products for many years. Ted was a proud Army Veteran who served during the Vietnam War. He received two purple hearts for his service. Ted was a man of few words but he had a quick wit and a dry sense of humor. He loved hanging out with family and friends. Ted is survived by his fiancée, Virginia Gilhouse, his son, Joshua (Jennifer) Streit, his grandchildren, Alexis, Chloe, Lance, Joshua, Jessica, Julia, Jacob, Jaden, and Mason, his sisters, Barbara (Jerry) McComb, Beverly Wendling, and Laura Schmit, and numerous nieces and nephews. Ted was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Kenneth Wendling. The family will have Full Military Services at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery on Friday April 26, 2013 at 10:00 A.M.at the Cemetery Chapel.
