TORONTO, ONTARIO, CANADA - Our lovely Thomas Philip Sankey, playwright, musician, artist, house - and - home - maker par excellence, died Thursday, August 26, 2010, at Sunnybrook Hospital. He was 77 and the light of our eyes. Predeceased by his parents, Tom and Alice Sankey, Tom was raised in Racine before moving to New York as a young man, where he became a successful folk-singer and playwright, winning an Obie Award in 1976 for his play, "The Golden Screw." An exceptional husband and father, Tom was open-minded, tender- hearted, multi-talented, irreverent, and endlessly creative. He leaves his sister, Enid Bartnicki; his brother, Brien; his wife, Fiona McHugh; his daughters, Heather (Peter) and Alyssa (Jeff); his son, Daragh (Lucy); and six grandchildren. Memorial held Ontario, Canada. Donations to Baycrest Foundation, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, gratefully accepted. We shall not look upon his like again.
