Walter "Chip" Hermann, Jr. Walter R. "Chip" Hermann, Jr., 49, of Union Grove, passed away after a long battle with lung cancer on May 31, 2013 at his home surrounded by the loving embrace of his family. He was born July 4, 1963 to Walter Hermann, Sr. and Joanne (Navoiczyk) Boman- Gonyea in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was a 1981 graduate of Park High School. Chip married the love of his life, Michelle Poquette, on June 24, 1989 and together they were raising two children. Chip was the Supervisor in Dealer Settlements at CNH Capital. Chip was a dedicated father and participated fully in his children's lives. He was a volunteer at All Saints Youth Group working for many activities including the Pancake Breakfast and Fish Fry at St. Robert's Church. He enjoyed deer hunting in Michigan with his wife's family and playing the occasional game of golf. Chip had earned his Brown Belt in Tae Kwon Do. Family was of utmost importance to him and he embraced his new siblings (step and in-law) with open arms. He had many friends and inspired those around him with his love and caring. Chip is survived by his loving wife, Michelle; his devoted children, Nate and Katrina; his dad, Walter, Sr. and Rose Mary Hermann; his mother, Joanne and Gary Boman-Gonyea; his step-siblings, Steven (Kim) James, Robert (Sharon) James, Mary (Barry) Barrett, and Charles (Shelly) James; Michelle's parents, Gale and Judy Poquette; Michelle's siblings, Christi (Tom) Leddy and Danielle (Scott) Kosterman; his aunt, Anita Hermann; Michelle's aunts and uncles, Wesley and Carolyn Poquette, George and the late Arlene Hirn, Ruth and the late Mark, Sr. Copa, Ken and Nancy Evitts, and Jeffrey (Margie) Evitts; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation for Chip's family and friends will be held at St. Robert Bellarmine Church on Monday, June 3, 2013 from 4-7 pm and again on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 from 10-11 am. Mass of Christian Burial officiated by Fr. Robert Kacalo will begin at 11 am on June 4, 2013. Memorials are suggested to the family for college funds for Nate and Katrina or to the American Cancer Association.
