RACINE - Antonio Pena Garcia, 87, passed away at his residence on Friday, February 14, 2014. He was born in Cuero, Texas on October 26, 1926, the son of the late Ynez and Eulalia (nee: Pena) Garcia. Antonio enlisted in the United States Army during WWII and was wounded in Germany. He re-enlisted in the Paratroopers with the 82nd Air Born Division. Antonio was united in marriage to Rosemary Boehm on November 11, 1950. He was employed at J.I. Case for more than 26 years, retiring in 1988. He was a member of VFW Post # 1391, Case 20 year Club and Cristo Rey Parish. Antonio enjoyed meeting “his Crew” at McDonalds on Lathrop every morning and his days at Harmony Club of Racine. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially watching his grandchildren play softball. He is survived by his children, David Garcia, Daniel Garcia, Andrew (Jean) Garcia, Toni Lynn Montoya, Adam (Mary Helen) Garcia, Jacob (Keely) Garcia; 24 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren; sister, Nancy Garza. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Antonio is preceded in death by his first wife, Rosemary; sons, Jeffrey and Harry Garcia; brothers, sisters and grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Cristo Rey Parish, 800 Wisconsin Ave., on Friday, February 21, 2014 at 11a.m. Antonio will be laid to rest, with full military honors, at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. A visitation will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6 pm until 8 p.m. and at church on Friday from 10 am until time of mass. A special thank you to Dr. Choi and Seasons Hospice, for the loving care provided to Antonio.
