Marie K. Wasinack RACINE Marie K. Wasinack of Racine, Wisconsin passed away peacefully at age 102 on March 15, 2014 at Becker Shoop Center. Marie was born February 10, 1912 in East Chicago, Indiana. She was the first child of John and Marie Pospisil. At age 6, the little family moved to Phillips, Wisconsin where she attended Dover school. Marie was then employed at Rush University Medical Hospital as a Nurses Aide for 17 years and then was employed by the Telephone Company as a Business Service Counselor and retired after serving 29 years. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneer Club and a member of St. Rita's Catholic Church. Marie married John "Jack" Wasinack of Racine, where they made their home. She was a talented homemaker, accomplished seamstress and needle worker. One of her pleasures was collecting cookbooks and delighted family and friends with her delicious creations. She was a true "Martha Stewart" before Martha came along. Marie traveled extensively throughout her life, both independently and with the Professional Women's Business Club. Some of her travels took her throughout Europe, including the Vatican in Rome, Alaska, Barbados and British Columbia. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jack, her parents, infant brother Adam, brothers John and Laddie, sisters Therese Foley, Anne Warga, niece Marie (Pospisil) Bailey and nephew Donald Warga. Marie is survived by her sisters Elsie Kalivoda and Fran Marlenga, brothers Jerry (Dorothy) and Frank Pospisil, sister-in-law Agnes Pospisil, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many friends. A warm "thank you" to Sharon Buckson, Rich Jorgensen, Gary Balewski, and the Lincoln Lutheran Village staff for their kindness and care. Special "thanks" to Jerry and Dorothy Pospisil for their devotion and loving care. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home, Saturday, March 22, 2014, 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends may meet Saturday 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Private interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given in her name to the
