BURLINGTON - Robert G. Wessner, 76, of Burlington, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Aurora Memorial Hospital, Burlington. Born in Vernon, Wisconsin on March 14, 1938, he was the son of Lawrence C. and Loraine E. (nee Richter) Wessner. He spent his early life in Vernon and was a 1956 graduate of Mukwonago High School. He served in the Army from 1956 to 1959. On April 9, 1999, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Burlington, he was united in marriage to Marjorie Wehner. Bob had been a Burlington resident since 1973. Over the years he worked at Husco in Waukesha as a Tool & Die Maker, then later as a gunsmith with Viking Guns and Kolar Arms. Bob was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church; loved to hunt, fish, go camping and biking. He loved spending time in the Black Hills of South Dakota. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; brothers-in-law, William (Mary Alyce) Wehner, Tony (Milly) Wehner, Jerome (Kathy) Wehner; sister-in-law, Jean Wehner and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Chuck Wehner. In lieu of flowers please make memorials to St. Mary’s Catholic Church. A special thank you goes to Ann at Kindred Nursing & Rehab, Aurora VNA Hospice and the staff at Aurora Memorial Hospital, Burlington. Visitation for Bob will be Saturday, April 12, 2014 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 1:00 PM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. Jim Volkert presiding. Burial will follow Mass at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
