RACINE - James Raymond Ruebsamen, age 65, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 25, 2014 at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, with his family by his side, from complications of heart surgery that took place on March 17th. James was born in Kenosha on November 28, 1948 to the late Raymond and Kirsten (née: Christensen) Ruebsamen. He was a 1966 graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School. With a tremendous work ethic, he was a longtime employee of WE Energies, where he proudly served as President of the United Steelworkers #2006. Jim had retired this past December. Jim was an all-around sports fan, who enjoyed playing baseball and basketball in his younger years. He loved to work out at the gym, being motivated and driven he could bench press over 300 lbs. well into his 50's. A strapping 6 foot 4 inches in height, Jim was a gentle giant who had a keen sense of humor and loved making others laugh. He was his daughter, Betzi's, number one fan in the Special Olympics and could often be seen taking his canine sidekick, Charlie, for a walk. Jim also took great pride in supporting his wife, Elaine's, business at Elaine's Wig Studio on 52nd Street. Never forgetting the importance of love, Jim always made sure every female in the family received a special Valentine's Day present…he never missed. Above all, he will always be remembered for his endless wit and great love for his family. Surviving are his loving wife of nearly 23 years, Elaine; children, Roland (Jamie) Loney, Jr.; Stacy (Scott) Lundy, Colleen (Eric Helgeland) Ruebsa- men, Betzi Ruebsamen and Nicole (Matt) Beck; grandchildren, Carmelina (Nick) Schmoll, Frank Alfano, Robert Alfano, Joseph Lundy, Jake Lundy, Rosie Helgeland, Ethan Beck, Madison Loney and Brynn Beck; great-grand- children, Julianna Alfano, Sienna Schmoll and Brody Maki; sisters, Carol (Paul) Bettendorf and Janet (Kenneth) Bastian; sisters-in-law, Carol Uebe, Pat (Randy) Pulera, Leona Fonk and Linda Fonk; brother-in-law, Robert Cavallo; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends - too numerous to mention all by name.
