Florence M. Weber RACINE – Florence May (nee: Ihle) Weber, 92, passed away peacefully at Wheaton Franciscan Health Care-All Saints on Saturday, May 10, 2014 with her family by her side. She was born on March 26, 1922 to the late Alfred and Elizabeth (nee: Nelson) Ihle in Virginia, Minnesota. Her family moved to Racine when she was four years old. She was united in marriage to Herbert Weber on July 8, 1950 at Holy Communion Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on March 18, 1994. Herbert was the love of her life and she missed him very much. Florence is survived by her daughters Patricia Rannow and her family and Denise (Gary) Lequia; grandchildren Lisa Lequia, Daniel Lequia and John Lequia; and great-granddaughter Mya Lequia; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Florence was a very talented, self-taught seamstress. She lost her father at age ten and a few years later began altering clothing given to her mother because they weren’t able to purchase any. Florence went on to make window treatments, recovered furniture and made many clothing items for herself and her family throughout the years. Florence worked at Massey Ferguson for 29 years retiring as an Import Analyst. The position was demanding and required much attention to detail. Employees at the Customs Office complimented her on never making a mistake. Florence enjoyed bowling the majority of her adult life and at one time was on three leagues. She was featured in the Journal Times when she was 90 years old after rolling a 503 series using a 13½ pound ball. Until a few years earlier, she used a 15½ pound ball and had much higher scores. She was also sure to complete the daily crossword puzzle in the Journal Times. Florence will be remembered as a classy lady who dressed impeccably and loved accessories that sparkled. Several commented that she must have won the genetic lottery because she was beautiful with very few wrinkles, no gray hair and enjoyed the very best of health until her last two years. She was also preceded in death by her sister Lois Hill; step-father Alfred Laursen; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Emma (George Galbraith) (Alexander) Ruppel, Edward (Margaret) Weber, Harold Weber and Lillian (Richard) Gregory. Visitation will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Thursday, May 15, 2014 from 4:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. continuing on Friday at Holy Communion Lutheran Church, 2000 W 6th Street, from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. with Pastor Mark Doidge officiating. Florence will be laid to rest next to her husband at West Lawn Memorial Park following the service. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Florence in a special way may direct memorials to Holy Communion Lutheran Church Food Pantry or the . A special thank you to Dr. Kaza and her nurse Karen, Dr. Mullane and W.F.H.C.-All Saints and Hospice staff for their genuine and devoted care and compassion.
