UNION GROVE - Felicia M. “Phyllis” Pohlman, age 77, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2014 at Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints in Racine. Born on July, 21, 1936 in Wauwatosa, she was the daughter of the late John and Florence (Neuman) Rutkowski. On March 1, 1969, in Kenosha, Phyllis was united in marriage to Fredrick Pohlman. She was employed as an LPN at Downey Veterans Hospital in North Chicago, later moving to St. Catherine’s Hospital and retired from Washington Manor. Phyllis was a former member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church and after moving to Union Grove, became a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Brighton. She selflessly gave of her time volunteering with the Girl Scouts when her children were active, she established the cheerleading squad at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, served on the Women’s Athletic Auxiliary at St. Joseph Catholic School and also served as President of the St. Catherine’s Hospital Auxiliary. Phyllis had a vast collection of porcelain dolls and in her earlier years she enjoyed golfing. She will be deeply missed by her husband, Fred; their three children, Patricia (Landon) Friend, Michael (Lori) Pohlman and Kathleen (Scot) Schoemaker; her sister, Marilyn (Terry) Freshem; two sisters; a brother; 12 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren with two more on the way. In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her step-father, Orville Anvilelink. A Memorial Service in celebration of Phyllis’ life will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home. Private inurnment will be held. A gathering of relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
