RACINE - Letisha Lynn (Garrett) Vincent, lovingly known as "Tisha", passed away peacefully at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 1:40pm. Her fight with Cystic Fibrosis had ended at the age of 36. She was predicted to not survive past the age of 6. She defied many odds and what a story she had to tell. Tisha was born in Racine on September 1, 1977. She graduated from Washington Park High School and went on to attend Gateway Technical College. She was also recently a student at Strayer University (online). She was united in marriage with Larry Vincent the previous year on June 22, 2013. Tisha poured her energy, love and time into family and church. Her faith was groomed and maintained at Midtown Church of Christ. She shared her faith with all who were willing to listen. She loved to sing and was a member of the Wisconsin Mass Choir. Tisha really loved dolphins and one day dreamt of swimming with them. She loved to encourage and guide young people. Although she carried the burden of chronic Cystic Fibrosis, Tisha will forever be remembered for her dedication of encouraging, counseling & guiding others - especially young people. Tisha left an imprint of love and forgiveness for others to follow in her absence. She is survived in dual parentship by John and Lula Garrett of Racine; and by Denise and John Dillard of Milwaukee. She shared five sisters and one brother who all loved her dearly. Her son, David Garrett-Graves is one of her greatest miracles in the journey to live her dreams. The nieces and nephews are numbered as the stars but all reflect a part of our deceased loved one and they all possess a memorable interaction with their aunt. A Service of Homegoing will be celebrated in Midtown Church of Christ, 1704 - 13th Street, on Monday, June 30, 2014 at 11:00 am with Brother Michael Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be in the church on Monday from 9-11 am.
