BURLINGTON - Age 91, of Burlington, passed away Monday, July 14, 2014 at Arbor View Assisted Living. She was born December 10, 1922 to John and Helena (nee Virtanen) Johnson in Hecla, South Dakota. Her early life was spent in North Dakota and Minnesota. On December 24, 1942 she was united in marriage to the late Roy O. Johnson in Kensington, MN. They resided in Minnesota Brandon/ Kensington area for 10 years after they were married. They moved to Racine in 1952, Union Grove in 1971 and then retired in Arizona. In 1997 they moved back to Union Grove. In 2011 Lil moved to the Arbor View Assisted Living in Burlington. She had been employed by the K-Mart Corp. Lillian was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church. She was an excellent seamstress, enjoyed dancing, playing cards, bowling and traveling. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Lillian is survived by her children, Ronald (Sandra) Johnson and Pamela (Paul) Barrett; grandchildren, Cary (Susie) Johnson, Curt (Michelle) Johnson, Kyle (Carrie) Johnson, Tracy (Brian) Sinner and Adam (Desiree) Barrett; great- grandchildren, Brody, Ty & Josie Johnson, Grant, Blake, Elise & Magen Johnson, Randy & Katelynn Sinner and Mary Beth & Emily Barrett; a sister Violet Eddy and sister-in law, Gladys Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings, Harold, Herbert, John, Hilda, Hazel, Helen and Violet; in-laws, Carl, Ronald, Edward, Lyle, Lenard, Melvin, Ethel, Harriet, Rosella and Lillian and a granddaughter Katie Marie Pynaker. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Schuette-Daniels Family Funeral Home. Relatives and friends may visit with the family from 10:00AM until 11:00AM at the funeral home. A private burial will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials for Lillian may be made to the . The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the aides and nurses that cared for our mother in the last days of her life. Your care and compassion for her was much appreciated.
