WAUKESHA - Mary Jane (nee: Bowe) Ehrisman, 87, formerly of Racine, passed away Saturday, April 30, 2005, at LindenGrove in Waukesha. Mary Jane was born in Waukesha January 12, 1918, daughter of the late William J. and Ella (nee: Merten) Bowe. She was a graduate of St. Joseph Elementary School in Waukesha, Waukesha High School, Racine Kenosha Normal and UW-Whitewater. Mary Jane taught in several one room Waukesha County schools before joining the WAVES where she was stationed at the Fleet Post Office in San Francisco during World War II. On June 28, 1958 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Waukesha, Mary Jane was united in marriage to Albert C. Ehrisman, who preceded her in death March 31, 1997. Mrs. Ehrisman also taught in Richland, WA before moving back to Racine where she taught third grade at Johnson School in Racine from 1955-1959. She was a member of St. Edward's Catholic Church, a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and was a volunteer for many years at St. Mary's Hospital Auxiliary. She will be dearly missed. Survivors include her brother, William (Carolyn) Bowe of Thiensville; sisters Eleanor Bowe and Elizabeth Bowe, both of Waukesha; nieces and nephews, Ellen (Jeff) Ehlers, Patti (Daniel) Frazier, Dan (Laurel) Bowe, Ronni Hinchman Diane (Hugh) Tidwell, Kitti Ehrisman; great nieces and great nephews; other relatives and many dear friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 818 N. East Avenue in Waukesha, Friday May 6, 2005, 12 noon, with Rev. Michael F. Michalski officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church Friday from 11:00 until time of Mass. A Memorial Mass at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Racine will be arranged. Memorials to St. Edward's Catholic Church, or to the LindenGrove -Waukesha Foundation 425 N. University Ave, Waukesha, WI 53188 have been suggested. The family extends a special thank you to the entire staff at LindenGrove for their loving and compassionate care shown to Mary Jane.
