RACINE - Robert C Hollister, 91, passed away on December 7, 2012. He was born in Kenosha on April 24, 1921, the son of the late Mortimer C. and Mildred E. (nee: Merritt) Hollister. Robert was a graduate of Washington Park High School. On December 20, 1941 Robert was united in marriage to Jean B. Gross in Kenosha. From 1942 until 1945 he served with the 3rd Army during WWII and was honorably discharge as a Sergeant. He was a tool and die maker at Belle City Mallable for 39 years and retired in 1980. He enjoyed bowling on Mondays and Wednesday with his senior bowling team. Surviving are his sons Robert C. (Barbara Jean) Hollister II of Columbia Heights, MN and Richard C. (Barbara) Hollister of Luthersville GA and James A. (Rachel) Hollister of Tega Cay SC; eight grandchildren, Matthew (Sharon)Hollister, Christopher Hollister, Kim (Kent) Schmelling, Michelle (Brian) Kwapick, Ryan (Rebecca) Hollister, Alexis Hollister, Cameron Johnson, April (Bret) Rindox and 14 great-grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Jean on October 30 1986; sister, Evelyn Adelman and brother, John Hollister. Robert will be laid to rest next to his wife, with full military honors following private family services at West Lawn Memorial Park.
