RACINE - Gustav Faige, 93, passed away in the Veterans Home of Southern Wisconsin on Friday, February 1, 2013. He was born in Germany on October 15, 1919 the son of the late William and Milida (nee: Bira) Faige. He served with the U.S. Army during WWII and saw duty in the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Faige had been employed by Harnischfeger Mfg. for over 35 years, retiring in 1977. While living in Milwaukee he was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and here in Racine, he was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. Surviving are his wife, Lillian (nee: Rohde) Faige, three sons, Daniel G. Faige, of Valencia, CA, David A. Faige, of Simi Valley, CA, and Mark A. Faige, of Milwaukee. Mr. Faiges grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive him. In keeping with his wishes cremation will take place, and inurnment will be in Arlington Park Cemetery.
