Robert Repa Obituary

RACINE - Robert Otto “Bob” Repa, 92, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan Health Care-All Saints with his family by his side on Friday, April 19, 2013. Bob was born in Racine on June 4, 1920, the son of the late Joseph and Amelia (nee: Woiteshek) Repa. He was a graduate of Wm. Horlick High School “Class of 1939”. Bob was a longtime member of Bethania Lutheran Church, where he married the love of his life, Virginia Skovsted on October 16, 1948. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from October 29, 1942 until his honorable discharge on December 4, 1945. Bob was employed as an Inspector and Supervisor with Dremel Manufacturing retiring in 1982 after more than 40 years of service. In their early retirement years, Bob and Ginny found great enjoyment in traveling throughout the United States and Hawaii. The highlight of his retirement was the privilege of participating in the Honor Flight on October of 2012, accompanied by his son Bruce and many of his military comrades. Bob is survived by his wife of 64 years, Virginia “Ginny”, children, Bruce (Alice) Repa, of Racine, Cindy (Chuck) Vogel of Beaver Dam, five grandchildren, Jamie Repa, Scott (Chessa) Repa, Brian Repa, Robb Vogel, and Kristin Vogel. He is further survived by three great grandchildren, Collin Repa, Sophia Repa-Krolikowski and Lucia Repa, along with brothers-in-law, sister - in - law, nieces, nephews, others relatives and dear friends and neighbors. Bob was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters and other family members. Funeral services will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at 12 noon with Rev. Kara Baylor officiating. Bob will be laid to rest at West Lawn Memorial Park with full military honors following services. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until service time at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Bob in a special way may direct memorials to Stars and Stripes Honor Flight Inc., Milwaukee, P.O. Box 636, Port Washington, WI 53074. The Repa family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the staff from the E.R. to Hospice at Wheaton Franciscan Health Care for their wonderful care and compassion given to Bob and his entire family.
