RACINE - Gary Richard Harbach, 50, passed away peacefully on Sunday September, 22, 2013 at Hospice Alliance-Hospice House of Racine. Gary was born in Racine on December 17, 1962, the son of Daniel and Rosemary (nee: Wade) Harbach. He enlisted in the United States Navy serving proudly from 1981 until his honorable discharge in 1985. Gary was self-employed as a mason for several years, working with various contractors. Gary found great enjoyment in bowling, golfing, fishing and riding his “Harley”. His most treasured memories were spending quality time with his children and family. Gary is survived by his children, Daniel, Adam, and Sydney Harbach all of Racine, Matthew (Ashley) Knight, granddaughter, Lyla Knight all of Kenosha. He is further survived by his mother, Rosemary Harbach of Racine sister, Barb (Robert) Konicek, two nieces, Sarah and Samantha Konicek, close friend, Carolyn Harbach, significant other, Barbie LaBeau, in addition to other relatives and many dear friends. Gary was preceded in death by his father and brother Daniel, who both passed away on January 11, 1975. Gary’s funeral service will be held at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 40 Ohio St. on Friday, September 27, 2013 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Melanie Hammond-Clark officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 10 until service time at 11 a.m. He will be laid to rest next to his father and brother following services at West Lawn Memorial Park with full military honors. The entire Harbach family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff at Hospice Alliance/ Hospice House of Racine for the excellent care and genuine compassion shown to Gary.
