Betty Ren Wright was by far my favourite author when I was a child. I always told my friends to read her books. Even as an adult, I enjoy re-reading her books, as I have collected a few of my favourites. I was so sad to hear of her passing and didn't know how to convey how much of an impact her books made to me in developing a passion for reading and writing. Seeing how many of the other entries are people like me gives me lots of happiness and joy that her work will continue to be loved by many. I hope that this brings a similar feeling to her family.

Ms. Wright's stories were my favorite when I was a child. "The Dollhouse Murders" and "Ghosts Beneath our Feet" were my favorites, read so many times, they fell apart and I was no longer allowed to count them toward how many books I read that quarter. My daughter is now 8 and just finished "A Ghost in the House." As soon as she closed the book she begged me to order all the books Betty Ren Wright ever wrote. Luckily for me, I still owned a few. I'm excited to see just how many books Ms. Wright wrote. Please know that her stories will be touching the hearts, filling the minds and igniting the imagination of children for generations.

My son is 8 years old and has never taken an interest in reading no matter what I have tried. Then the teacher gave him this book - The Ghost Comes Calling. He just finished it last night which is why I googled the author only to learn of the beautiful life she lead along with other stories I know he will want to read. Thank you so much and God Bless you and your family. How beautiful that you will continue to impact children in such a positive light for future generations. This book has changed my son and his outlook on reading. Thank you.

Betty Ren was a big part of my childhood in Milwaukee as we are first cousins. She was a humorous and great storyteller, not just in her books. My 10 year old granddaughter enjoys her books. Betty Ren was always interested in others. .She touched many hearts and will live on through us.

I never met Betty, but she has give me the most wonderful daughter-in-love that I would ever imagine. My son is so blessed to have found and married Betty's granddaughter in 2006. My sone tells me wonder stories about this precious lady and I am honored to be connected to her in this small way. The angels rejoice that one of God's best has made it home! God bless my daughter-in-love, Renee as she says "goodby for now".

Betty Ren has been a dear friend of my mother's since Downer College days. I will always remember her for the book she wrote about my brother's room, entitled Scotty's Room. I also have a special collection of Betty Ren books that I kept when my mother passed.

Betty was a wonderful person that I only knew for a short time. Her warm personality filled an area with a welcoming and friendly aura. My only regret is that I did not know her for as long or as well as others have. The short time I knew her, she made a lasting impression.

Betty was a wonderful woman that I only knew a short time. Her warm personality filled a room with a soft and welcoming feeling. My only regret is that I did not get to meet her sooner or know her longer as other did.

Betty Ren has always been a much-loved, extraordinary friend and colleague, as well as a superb publishing executive and a rare example of an intelligent children's book author and editor who graced the Western Publishing Company with great literature and success. We met during my 21 years at Western and our friendship continued during times later while Betty established her own published writings in the book field.
Much love to you, Betty Ren, Always & Forever !

I've only recently met Betty Ren, and was fortunate to spend time driving with her around town. Our conversations were interesting, her stories were dynamic, and her wit was absolutely darling. I loved seeing pictures taken at a family member's wedding - she was so excited to have been able to attend. I was thrilled when she gave me a signed copy of The Dollhouse Murders to give to my teenage daughter! I had no idea during all those drives together - despite many conversations about books - that she was an award-winning author. Betty Ren was a lovely lady, and I am grateful she was my friend. I will miss her.

While we didn't know you as long as some of the other Allied Authors members, we always enjoyed your comments and your company.
The annual meetings at your home were always a treat. The world has lost a little more of its magic, but you'll live on in your stories and in our hearts.

I met Betty only once for tea in her Racine home. But that's all it took for Betty to turn a perfect stranger into a cherished friend. We exchanged books and spent hours talking about "writing" and "life". Our friendship grew through letters and I regret to say I was "too busy" to make the trip to Racine on my last visit to the Midwest. My loss. Thank you, Betty. You were so easy to love, and such wonderful company. I envy the young reader opening one of your books for the first time.

You are looking at a women that lived her life to the fullest, not leaving a single stone unturned. To all those that have had the honor to be in her life understand this. So soft spoken yet spewing with strength and bravery. Although a author to countless books, her ultimate legacy will be the story of her life.

Fern and I have known Betty Ren since the mid-fifties,this through Allied Authors and personal visits in Racine.
She was a most gracious, kind woman, always willing to help in any way possible.
As writers we grew together, and successfuly published endless novels, articles, short stories, you name it, we did it.
Her passing comes as a great shock to both Fern and I. We shall remember her always. The world has lost a remarkable author as well as kind, loving, caring friend.
Have a happy time in heaven, darling!

I was doubly blessed in that I enjoyed both a business relationship and personal friendship with Betty Ren. From our first meeting in the mid 80s right through our last telephone call in mid-December, she was one of the kindest, warmest and most giving people I've ever met. Dedicated to writing and writers, she hosted a recent meeting of the Wisconsin Allied Authors, generously sharing both her home and her creative and professional acumen with other members. A Writer even then, as health issues quietly loomed for her, she shared her ideas and plans for a new book. While that book shall remain unfinished, Betty Ren's life was a masterpiece; filled with life, love, family, lasting friendships, personal losses, professional successes and the adoration of the countless children worldwide who devoured her many books.
We will miss her.

I wish I had known Betty better; I did meet her on a few occasions, and found her to be delightful, intelligent, and committed to writing and to writers. She was exceptionally generous over the years to the Council for Wisconsin Writers, for which that organization remains exceedingly grateful.

My aunt was one of the kindest and loving people I ever knew. While in pain most of her life , she never complained and always had a smile and time for everyone who knew her. She will be missed all. May she rest in peace.
