Balistrieri, Joseph Thomas Entered Eternal Life on February 12, 2014, at the age of 91. Longtime resident of Milwaukee. Beloved son of the late Thomas and Frances Balistrieri. Loving brother of Florence (Edward) Jones and of the late Carmella (Anthony) DiFiore, Jennie (Louis) Mancini, Peter (Evelyne), John (Sylvia), Victoria (Anthony) Scaduto, Samuel, Charles (June) and Frank Balistrieri. Further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and good friends. Joe had served his country in the Army Air Corp during WWII. He graduated from Marquette University with a Bachelors of Arts Degree. Joe was an avid learner; throughout his life he had careers as a Paralegal, a licensed realtor, and a expeditor in the trucking business. He loved to walk, swim, paint, and was always up for singing tenor. Joe was also an extremely caring and compassionate man and had spent many years caring for his parents and his brother Sammy "Turiddu". He will be deeply missed and never forgotten by his sister Florence, other relatives and dear friends. The family would like to extend a very heartfelt thank you to the staff of the Elizabeth Residence for their genuine care and support for Joe. Visitation will take place on Sunday, February 16, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at the Feerick Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, at 10:00 AM at St. Robert Catholic Church, corner of E. Capitol Drive and N. Farwell Avenue, Shorewood, followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Memorials in Joseph's name may be made to the Paralyzed Veterans, National Headquarters, 801 Eighteenth Street, NW, Washington, DC 20006.

We have been long-time neighbor's of Joe and of Sammy when he was alive. Joe was a good neighbor and the love and care he bestowed on his garden, especially the roses, was a joy to witness. He and his animated conversation will be missed. Paul & Amy
