Aileen C. Rockjordan(1923 - 2013)

Rockjordan, Aileen C. Aileen arrived on Planet Earth on a Thursday afternoon at 3:30 PM on June 16, 1923 and left us at 2:01 PM on Wednesday, August 7, 2013. Aileen was born in Chicago, IL, the only child born to Lelia and Robert Clinton Rock. She was full of curiosity and energy. She was interested in Anthropology; Astrology; Natural Sciences; Philosophy; Psychology; how people perceive things; how ideas and plans develop, evolve and change; different cultures and the marvelous experience of reading and travel. She received a degree in Business and Retail Distribution from Long Island University. She later attended New York University for Business Administration; The University of Wisconsin for Social Welfare and did Post-graduate work at The University of Illinois and the University of Wisconsin. Aileen attended numerous Conferences and seminars to enhance her knowledge. She retired as professor emeritus from the Department of Social Welfare at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee after 27 years of employment. Her organizational affiliations included the Zonta Club of Milwaukee, the Milwaukee Women's Center, the Parkway Village Association and Wisconsin Condominium Association. Aileen is survived by cousins Brenda Lee and Barry Jackson. She will long be remembered and missed as a dear friend and mentor by Wang Kuo, of Beijing China; and locally by Barbara Robinson, Nancy Dandy, Susan Dawicke, and many other dear friends, former students, colleges and associates. Thank you to Trinity, Stowell & Associates, and the Visiting Nurses Association who took such wonderful care of Aileen during her recent illness. Visitation at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 13, at 4-6:15PM. Funeral Service at 6:30PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Aileen Rockjordan Scholarship Fund in the School of Social Welfare at UW-Milwaukee, the Zonta Club of Milwaukee or the Milwaukee Women's Center. Aileen's philosophy was, "You only live once; but if you live it right, once is enough." Your once was definitely enough, Aileen.
