Carrie L. Parker

Parker, Carrie L. Of Bay View, Wisconsin died Saturday, November 10, 2012, at Columbia St. Mary's Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on July 28, 1971. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Martha and Edward Garski of Wausau, Wisconsin; and by her cousin, Christopher Garski also of Wausau. Carrie was studying to be a nutritionist, and hoped some day, to work with children in elementary schools to encourage them to eat well and thus, avoid obesity and illness. She was employed for many years at Arteaga Mexican Restaurant, where the Arteagas' considered her part of their family and loved her as one of their own; especially, Maria, Rigo, April, Janelle, Henry, Steve, Carlos, Alonzo, James and Indy. For the last nine years, she worked at The Milwaukee Yacht Club, where she knew every member by name and will be missed by them and all her co-workers, especially, Todd and Angelica. Carrie was a free-spirit and loved the environment and the world around her. She touched many lives with her enthusiasm for life. She will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her mother, Mary Parker of St. Francis, Wisconsin and her father, Gary Parker of West Allis, Wisconsin; her dogs, Motley and Tyker; and her one special friend, Bryon Eckert. She is also survived by her Aunt Betty Terry and cousins, Sean Gracyalny (Mark), Nicole Nelson, and Jennifer Kerhin (Christian); Uncle Jim Garski (Sharon), and cousins, Jimmy and Heidi Garski; Aunt Judy Franck and cousins, Tari Vanasse (Pete) and Todd Franck (Laura); and Aunt Rita Goll (John), and cousins, Tim Noe (Krysta) and Amy Rogers (Dan). A prayer service will be held in celebration of her life on Saturday, November 17, 2012, at 1:00PM at The Milwaukee Yacht Club, 1700 N. Memorial Drive, Milwaukee, Wisconsin with an hors d'oeuvre reception to follow. Memorials will be used for Carrie's favorite charities.
