He began his career in Dallas, Texas, in 1974 and retired from the Medical College of Wisconsin last year after nearly 30 years of service there. While he enjoyed practicing medicine, his true passion was teaching, and he loved nothing more than interacting with his students. Outside of work, Jim was a man of myriad interests, and no matter the subject, he always studied it intensely to the point of mastery, especially music, photography, and the history of medicine.
