Balistrieri, Edward Joseph Passed away on January 24, 2013, at the age of 93 years. He was born August 3, 1919. Edward married Patricia Mary Machowski on June 10, 1944 and was her beloved husband for 68 years. He is survived by his children Rosemary (Donald) Fifield, Thomas (Kathryn), John (Sally) and Patrick (Julie); his grandchildren Nicholas (Maria) Yager, Anika Sabin, Brian (Christi), Michael (Janine), Maria, Danielle, Kaitlyn (Eric) Wrightsman and Scott; his great-grandchildren Eduardo, Alexandra, Laura, Julian, Isabella, Braydon, Cameron and Gabriella; as well as his sister, Marion Gaeth, his brother, Lee (Gloria) and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents Gaetano and Providenzia (nee Consolazione), his brother Peter and his sisters Anne, Grace and Ida. During World War II
, Ed worked at Kearney & Trecker producing critical equipment for the military. He joined the West Allis Police Department in 1949 and served until 1979, retiring as Captain of the Detective Bureau. For his entire life, Ed was a devout Catholic, serving as an altar boy, a member of the Holy Name Society and in various capacities for Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. He enjoyed sculpting and painting and was an avid fisherman who loved to spend time with his family in Eagle River, WI. Most importantly, he was a beloved husband and father who taught his children the importance of honesty, dedication, hard work and love of family. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 7:00PM, at St. Florian Church, 1233 S. 45th St., West Milwaukee. Visitation Monday at the church 5:00PM until time of mass.
