Eugene H. Wereley

Wereley, Eugene H. Passed away peacefully on December 21, 2013, at age 94. Loving and devoted husband of the late Pauline for 58 years. Humorous and caring dad of Glenn (Betty), Gary (Cathy), Gregg (Marlene) and Janine (Kevin Putzer). Proud grandfather of Brian, Jessica, Ashley, Rebecca, Michael, Alex, Becky and Adam. Preceded in death by his first wife, Gloria, in 1953. Eugene served in WWII as Staff Sergeant in the Battle of the Bulge for the U.S. Army under the direction of Gen. Patton. He earned the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Eugene was an Industrial Arts teacher at Audubon Junior High School, retiring in 1982. He loved the great slapstick comedians of the 1940s era, which inspired his sense of humor. He often couldn't make it through a meal without making us all laugh. Visitation at GETHSEMANE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 13200 W. Greenfield Ave., on Thursday, December 26, at 4-7PM. Additional visitation at the church on Friday, at 10AM until time of Service at 11AM. Burial at Highland Memorial Park. We extend grateful appreciation to National Regency New Berlin for the many years Mom and Dad lived there and was cared for, and Vitas Hospice Care for Dad's final days. Your support, care and love is beyond measure. Thank you from all of us. We are eternally grateful for everything you have done for our parents and family.
