George R. Blommel

Blommel, George R. Age 74, peacefully slipped away on July 31, 2011. George courageously fought a 6 month battle with complications from surgery in January. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. George was a devoted and loving husband to Donna. Loving father to Gregory (Jeannie) Blommel of West Bend, Christopher (Polly) Blommel of Shorewood, Maria (Carl) Tiefenthaler of Jackson, and Paul (Jeannie) Blommel of Oregon, WI, and stepfather to Kelly (Justin) Cumming of Denver, CO and Cindy (Daniel) Keigher of Denver, CO. He was also a very proud "Papa" to Kathryn (David) Schulz, Timothy (Lauren) Blommel, Joseph (Anne) Blommel, Jared Blommel, Hilary Blommel, Nick Blommel, Andy Tiefenthaler, Sara Blommel, Sabrina Blommel, Mitchell Tiefenthaler, Megan Blommel and Ivy Blommel, and step-grandfather to Brett and Trevor Cumming and Hannah, Nathan and Aidan Keigher. Further surviving is his beloved sister Frances (William) Mathias of De Pere, and many nieces, nephews and other relatives too numerous to mention by name. In addition to his parents, Joseph and Helen (Michel) Blommel of Racine, George was preceded in death by his beloved brother, Joe (Arlene) Blommel of Racine and his dear sisters, Katherine (Eugene) Horn of Garland, TX, and Blanch (Gene) Nowak of Greendale. Visitation will be held at West Granville Presbyterian Church on Friday, August 5, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM, and Saturday, August 6, from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM. A memorial service will take place at 3:00 PM immediately following the visitation on Saturday.
