Friedlander, Jean Louise Weiss Passed away peacefully on January 1, 2014. Jean was born in Jacksonville, Florida on July 17, 1921 and raised in Tampa. She and her husband, Theodore Friedlander Jr., were longtime residents of Fox Point, where they raised their four children. Preceded in death by her daughter Ellen in 2003 and her husband Ted in 2011. Jean is survived by sons Pete (Louise), Bob (Barbara Lynn) and Jim (Renee), grandchildren Jason (Anna) and Kellen (Laura) Friedlander and Brynn Friedlander Swanson (Luke), great-grandson Gavin Karter Friedlander and great-granddaughter Emma Lynn Swanson. Jean was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Northwestern University
with a B.A. in Literature. Jean and Ted were founding members of Congregation Sinai. She served on the local school board and other boards among her many community activities. She ran a small art gallery during her summers in Door County. Jean was devoted to her cherished Milwaukee Art Museum where she was a volunteer for over 55 years, serving as a docent and as a major fundraiser. Jean loved spending time with her family, art, poetry, playing tennis, reading, philanthropy, birds, birding, travel and caring for her extensive tulip garden In memory of Jean, donations would be appreciated to the Milwaukee Art Museum, 700 N.
