Cullen, John A. Entered God's loving arms on February 11, 2014, at the age of 91. Loving husband of Elizabeth "Pat" (nee Grady), for 64 ½ years. Warmhearted father of Daniel (Erin), Richard (Kathleen), Michael, Timothy (Kathleen), Colleen (Patrick) Thibert, and Patrick (Vicki). Proud grandpa of Kelly Jo, Kate (Ryan) Brown, Kennedy (fiancé TJ Turner), Caitlin, Kevin, Darin, Bryan, Brendan, Kaitlin, Shane, McKenna, and 4 great - grandchildren. Brother of the late Jim (the late Shirley) Cullen and Ruth Claire (the late Dom) Bruno. Brother-in-law of Madge (the late Leo) Grady and the late Gene Grady. Also loved by other relatives and friends. John was born in Mineral Point, the son of a blacksmith. He enlisted in the Army
when he was 18. John served as a sergeant for 6 years in the Army Medical Corp. He was the recipient of a WWII Purple Heart
and Silver Star. He met Elizabeth "Pat" in 1948 and they were married in 1949 and had 6 children. John found his passion for barbering and enjoyed his career for 50 years. John died peacefully with his wife and children at his side. Visitation at ST. ANNE'S SALVATORIAN CAMPUS (3800 N. 92nd St.) on Saturday, February 15, 2014, from 8:30-10:00AM. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM. Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to St. Anne's Salvatorian Campus or Heartland Hospice.
