John Louis "Jack" Coffey

Coffey, John "Jack" Louis, Honorable Entered Eternal Life on November 10, 2012, at the age of 90 (or, as he would say, in his 91st year). Jack and his nine siblings earned degrees from Marquette University. He served for the U.S. Navy during World War II and then matriculated to Marquette University Law School, which led to his lifelong career in the legal profession. Jack's 58 years on the bench began with elected judicial positions on the Milwaukee Municipal Court, Circuit Court and Wisconsin Supreme Court. In 1982 Jack was nominated by President Reagan to the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, where he would serve until his retirement this past January. Jack was loving, devoted and inspiring, always putting his family and faith first. He found the time and energy to assist others in any way that he could.
