Moore, John Nicholson, Ret. Colonel, Army Age 93. Born May 9, 1920 in Pittsburg, PA and passed away October 25, 2013, in West Allis, WI. Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Clair and Mary Ann Nicholson Moore and former daughter-in-law, Janet Moore. Graduate of Penn State University
, May 9, 1942 with a degree in Agricultural Engineering. Member of Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) fraternity. Commissioned in the Army, May 9, 1942. Served in the 9th Infantry Division, 15th Engineers Battalion in North Africa, Sicily and the European Theatre through October 1945. Recipient of 2 Purple Heart

and the Chevalier de l'Ordre de la Couronne avec Palme from Belgium. Married Margaret Katherine Ramaley on January 18, 1946 in Oakmont, PA. Began working for the Allis Chalmers Co, West Allis, WI in the Farm Equipment Division, February 1946 and retiring in 1982. Active in and President of the local chapter of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). Life member of the Reserve Officers Association and a founding member of the Elm Grove Community Church in Elm Grove, WI. John enjoyed time at their cottage on Teal Lake in WI busying himself with many projects, including the construction of a pole barn from trees on the acreage, complete with a carved eagle. He did manage to find some time to experience the thrill of catching a "keeper" musky. In retirement, John enjoyed traveling the United States and spending time with family and friends as well as various other woodworking, precious stone, silver crafting and corkboard projects. Active in Golden Kiwanis, Elm Grove, WI. Survived by his wife Margaret of 67 years; sister, Mary Jean (Don) Campbell; three children, Stephen (Jennifer) Moore of Sarasota, FL, Virginia Rogers of Antioch, IL and Douglas (Linda) Moore of Brookfield, WI.; four grandchildren, Benjamin (Jennifer) Moore, Rebecca (Todd) Cummins, Jennifer (Jens) Levisen and Lindsey Rogers; five great -grandchildren, John Robert Moore, Finnigan Andrew Cummins, Abigail Grace Moore, Asher Jefferson Cummins and Anders John Levisen and countless friends. A special thank you to all of the staff of Sunnyview 2 in the Maplewood Center of the Village of Manor Park and Allay Hospice. A committal service and inurnment will be held at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Union Grove, WI on November 11, 2013 at 12 noon.
