Ryan, Jack T. Entered the fullness of Eternal Life on March 11, 2014, at the age of 96. Resident of Mequon, formerly of Fox Point. Beloved husband of Betty Jane (nee Pokorney) Ryan. Loving father of Jack Ryan, Tom (Caroline) Ryan, Kathy (Steve) Schneider, and Jim (Jean) Ryan. Dear grandfather of Maureen (Kevin) Braley, Erin (James Goodnow) Ryan, Caroline (Ben) Hood, John Schneider, Robert Schneider, Brandon (Valerie) Ryan and Kelsey Ryan. Dear great-grandfather of Addie, Jack, Kelly and Brody. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Jack was predeceased by his three siblings, Dorothy (John) Savage, Mary Jane (Ed) Pick and Robert (Betty Anne) Ryan. Jack was a Phi Beta Kappa Graduate of Northwestern University
. He was a nationally ranked Tennis Junior, a Big Ten Track All-Star, an All American football quarterback and a Big Ten Conference Medalist for Scholarship and Athletics. After attending Northwestern University Law School he served as an FBI Special Agent from 1941 to 1947 domestically and abroad. Jack was a former Big Ten Football official and consultant to the Big Ten Commissioner. In 1960 he co-founded Robertson-Ryan & Associates, now ranking among the 100 largest Independent Insurance Agencies in the nation, out of some 40,000. He is a former director of the YMCA, St. Mary's Hospital, The Town Club and the Rotary Club
of Milwaukee and has served as Chairman of Agents' Councils for numerous Insurance companies. Most of all Jack will be remembered as a man who never missed an opportunity to make this world a better place as well as remaining a devoted husband for 67 years and supportive father of his four children. Visitation will take place on St. Patrick's Day, Monday, March 17, at St. Monica Catholic Church in Whitefish Bay from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM, with Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11:30 AM. Interment will be private at Holy Cross Cemetery. In loving memory of Jack, contributions in his name may be made to Messmer High School, 742 W. Capitol Dr., Milwaukee, WI 53206.
