Leonard M. "Lenny" Pawlak

Pawlak, Leonard M. "Lenny" Born to Eternal Life on Monday, November 11, 2013, age 90 years. Loving brother of Evelyn (the late Raymond) Goossens, Daniel (Helen) Pawlak and Margaret (the late Frank Parks) and preceded in death by his brothers Jerome (the late Diane) Pawlak and George (the late Shirley) Pawlak. Also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other family and friends. Leonard was a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II and while at the Invasion at Normandy, on July 4, 1944, he was severely injured by a landmine explosion taking his sight and was awarded the Purple Heart. After returning home, Leonard learned how to type and eventually became a medical transcriptionist at the Zablocki VA Medical Center for 30 years until his retirement. He was also a member of Gold Star Post No. 505, American Legion. Visitation on Friday, November 22, 2013, 4:00-8:00 PM, Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Funeral on Saturday, Nov. 23, 10:30 AM from the Funeral Home to ST. AUGUSTINE OF HIPPO CHURCH for Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Entombment and military honors to follow at St. Adalbert Cemetery. A special thank you to the staffs of the Jewish Home and Seasons Hospice for the loving care they gave Leonard.
