Ralph Eugene Harvey Milaeger(1920 - 2013)

Milaeger, Ralph Eugene Harvey Age 93, died peacefully on August 9, 2013, joining his wife of 67 years, Virginia (O'Neal) Milaeger who preceded him in death in May of 2013. Loving father of Barbara (Andrew) Rampolla, Nancy (Tom) Montgomery and Richard (Robin) Milaeger. Proud grandfather of Corrie (Kenny) Mosley, Sarah (David) Glass, Jamie and Erin (fiancé Brian) Milaeger, Elizabeth and Tommy Montgomery, Michael (Jennifer) and Jenny Rampolla. Great-grandfather of Josaphine, Eva, Vivyan, and Lorelei Glass and Elijah, Ethan, and Olivia Mosley whom he dearly loved. Born in Milwaukee, WI, on January 12, 1920, to Richard E. and Marion Milaeger. Ralph graduated, summa cum laude, a year early from Washington High School and magna cum laude from the University of Wisconsin-Madison In 1942 with a BS degree in Civil Engineering and earned a Master's Degree in 1946. He is a lifetime member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. From 1942-1945 he attained the rank of lieutenant Senior Grade in the U.S. Navy Construction Battalions (SeaBees), with 2 years in the South Pacific. Ralph married Virginia, the love of his life, on June 8, 1946. He retired in 1988 as President from the Milaeger Well and Pump Company that was founded by his father in 1916. Ralph and Virginia lived in Wauwatosa where they raised their family and enjoyed fishing and boating in Wisconsin and Florida. He participated in many Florida and Bahamas tournaments and one of his proudest moments was catching a 193 pound blue marlin off of Ft. Lauderdale. Ralph was a trustee of the Wisconsin Club, a member of the Milwaukee Yacht Club for over 25 years, a registered Professional Engineer, proud member of the Ground Water Institute, National Ground Water Association, Illinois Association of Ground Water Professionals and Wisconsin Water Well Association. Visitation Wednesday, August 14, 2013, at WISCONSIN MEMORIAL PARK, CHAPEL OF THE FLOWERS (13235 W. Capitol Dr., Brookfield), from 10AM until time of service at 12 noon.
