Raymond L. Gibert

Gibert, Raymond L. Age 94 years. September 28, 2013, at Wisconsin Veterans Home, King, WI. Former resident of Milwaukee and Hubertus. Proud father of Sharyn Fonte (fiance Don Phillips), Sandra Mack and Steven (Anne) Gibert. Doting grandfather of Vincent (Melissa) Fonte, Martin (Sherri) Fonte, Paul (Tracy) Fonte, Carrie Ann (Andy) Jung, Matthew Gibert and Nathan Gibert. Loving great-grandfather of Nicholas, Sophia, Jessica, Noah, Sydney, Spencer, Mason, Sydney Ray and Sadie. Brother-in-law of Ida Gibert. Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Roemelle, father Anthony Gibert, mother Clara Brandin and step father Carl Brandin, mother and father-in-law Helen and Joseph Lubinski, brother Ralph Gibert and granddaughter-in-law Monica Fonte. Also survived by cousins, niece, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation Friday, October 4, at St. Gabriel Church, 1200 St. Gabriel Way, Hubertus (1 half block south of Hubertus Road at Hwy 164), from 9:30 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Milwaukee. Ray served in the U.S. Army in WWII and was an Iwo Jima survivor. Past member of American Legion Post #1 in Germantown and life member of Gross-Yaksh VFW Post #6498 in Milwaukee. Retired from the Milwaukee County Transit System. Ray loved to fish, golf, bowl, hunt, play cards, dance and was actively involved with many church and community organizations.
