Richard Raymond Ewert

Ewert, Richard Raymond Master Sargent United States Marine Corps Retired, died Monday, June 24, 2013 in New Port Richey, Florida. He was born in Milwaukee on June 9, 1924. As a teenager he joined the Marines and served in the Pacific in WWII. He remained in the Marine Corps for over 25 years serving in Korea, Camp Lejune, NC, Quantico, VA, and Philadelphia Navy Yard. After he retired from the Marine Corps he worked 20 years as a photo lithographer for Cuneo Press in Milwaukee. He was a member of Tripoli Shrine. Known by his friends as "Sarge" he retired and lived in New Port Richey, Florida. He is survived by his daughter, Margaret Ewert (Rakha), who is an artist and retired art teacher in La Crosse, WI; by a step son, John McCray, PhD Retired Prof at UT at San Antonio, TX; and step daughter, Louise Crispin, retired teacher of Hudson, FL; and companion, Dorothy Kelm. He is also survived by sisters in law; Bonnie Ewert, MaryAnn Ewert and brother in law, Tony Chavez and by many nieces, nephews, and step children. Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Beale McCray Ewert, and Grandson, Joseph Rakha. All friends and family are invited to a memorial service to be held, Thursday, July 11, at 2:30 PM at El Hajj, 7210 W Greenfield Ave, Milwaukee, WI with entry and parking in rear.
