Theodore Sernovitz(1914 - 2013)

Sernovitz, Theodore Former Milwaukee resident, Theodore (Ted) Sernovitz passed away December 8, 2013 in Estero, FL at the age of 99. He was preceded in death in 2010 by his beloved wife, Blanche. The couple moved to Naples, FL in 2006. Ted is survived by his sons, James (Millie) Sernovitz of Bonita Springs, FL and Neal (Seema) Sernovitz of Mequon, WI; grandsons Andrew (Julie Grisham), Gary (Molly Pulda), Harvey (JoAnn) and Mark Sernovitz; 7 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers and sisters, Burton (Fran) Serney, Edith Gross, Ruth Pardo and Elaine (George) Zimbel; and many nieces & nephews. Ted graduated from North Division High School in 1932 and the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1938. He worked for the Milwaukee Welfare Department until World War II, where he served as a Captain in the Army signal corps stationed in the Philippines. He married Blanche Todes in 1941. After the war, he was the traffic manager for Gimbel's and later founded Loop Cartage, a trucking and warehousing company that grew to be one of Wisconsin's largest transportation companies.
