William E. "Bill" Gautsche Jr.

Gautsche, William E. Jr., "Bill" William Edward Gautsche, Jr. age 86, of Hayward, WI, passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at the Water's Edge Nursing Home, with his daughter, Jan, at his side. With over 60 years in the fishing tackle industry, Bill was an icon in the industry with thousands of friends and stories. He attended his first Milwaukee Sport Show in 1949 and estimated that he may have attended this show 50 times or more. And in later years Bill served as an advisor with the Great Outdoors Group, managing The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Sport Show. A funeral service celebrating Bill's life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 15, at Spider Lake Church with Pastor Gary Hilgendorf officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday at the Anderson-Nathan-Koerpel Funeral Home in Hayward. Interment will be in the Spider Lake Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Spider Lake Church, PO Box 695, Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame, PO box 690, Regional Hospice, 15910W Company Lake Rd, all of Hayward, WI 54843.
